U.S. Eases Immigration Rules for War Zone Refugees

The Obama administration has eased immigration rules for people fleeing
war-torn countries. The move would exempt refugees from anti-terrorism
provisions if they provided only minor material support to militants not
officially designated as terrorists by the U.S. government. The policy
change was announced in response to Syria's massive refugee flight, with
more than 2.3 million displaced. Republicans are denouncing the measure
as executive overreach.
