Scarlett Johansson Leaves Oxfam Post After SodaStream Dispute

Actress Scarlett Johansson has left her post at Oxfam International
following a dispute over her support of Soda Stream, a company that
operates in a settlement in the occupied West Bank. Johansson will
appear in an ad for Soda Stream during the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Following public outcry over the ad campaign, Johansson left her post as
an ambassador for Oxfam; a spokesperson for the actress cited a
"fundamental difference of opinion" with the group. Oxfam accepted her
resignation, saying, "Oxfam believes that businesses such as Soda Stream
that operate in settlements further the ongoing poverty and denial of
rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support."
