Ernst & Young to Pay $4 Million over Lobbying Charges

The accounting firm Ernst & Young has agreed to pay more than $4 million
to settle claims one of its units lobbied on behalf of two companies it
had been hired to audit. The Securities and Exchange Commission accused
Ernst & Young of violating rules meant to preserve independence, but did
not name the other two firms.
