California Lawmakers Weaken Climate Bill After Industry Pressure

The California State Assembly has stripped a key provision from Governor
Jerry Brown's climate change legislation. The measure had sought to set
targets to reduce gasoline use. It had been the subject of fierce
opposition from the oil and gas industry, which had launched a statewide
advertising blitz against the legislation.
