Brazil Pledges to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 43% by 2030

President Dilma Rousseff has pledged Brazil will cut greenhouse gas
emissions by more than 40 percent by 2030. She also pledged during a
speech at the U.N. General Assembly Sunday to work to end illegal
logging in the Amazon, but she stopped short of declaring a freeze on
deforestation.
