Hundreds of Thousands of Brazilian Students Protest Education Cuts
------------------------------------------------------------------

In Brazil, hundreds of thousands of students took to the streets of Rio
de Janeiro, São Paulo and other cities and towns nationwide Thursday in
a massive protest against plans by far-right President Jair Bolsonaro to
dramatically slash education spending. Bolsonaro dismissed similar
protests earlier this month, calling student demonstrators "imbeciles"
and "useful idiots."
