Death Toll from Tanzania Floods Rises to 63

In Tanzania, at least 63 people have been killed since torrential rains
over the weekend triggered flooding and mudslides. On Monday, Tanzania's
President Samia Suluhu Hassan cut short her trip to the COP28 climate
talks to oversee her government's response to the disaster. Since
October, persistent heavy rains across East Africa have killed at least
350 people and displaced about a million residents of Ethiopia, Kenya,
Somalia and Tanzania.
