VOA News 21 December 2009 A Nigerian lawmaker says at least 30 people have been killed in fighting between farmers and cattle herders in central Nasarawa State. Member of parliament Mohammed Baba Ibaku says the incident began Friday when armed herders raided the farm village of Udeni Gida. He says scores of homes were set on fire during the attack. The lawmaker says the herders were from the neighboring Kogi and Taraba states. A similar clash erupted two weeks ago after herders led their cattle into rice fields.
