The Interior Ministry said it remains unclear whether Tuesday's explosion near the Bagram airfield, 60 kilometers outside Kabul, was caused by a roadside bomb or suicide attack. The Peshawar-based Afghan Islamic Press said Tuesday that a Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for a suicide attack at a foreign military base near Bagram. It was not immediately clear if the claim referred to the same incident. Separately Tuesday, the NATO-led force said insurgents killed a coalition soldier in eastern Afghanistan. It did not immediately release the nationality of the soldier. On Monday, Afghan officials and NATO spokesmen said a series of clashes across the country killed four American soldiers, four Afghan police officers and at least eight militants. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and Reuters. .
