Afghanistan Interior Ministry says it remains unclear whether Tuesday's
explosion near Bagram airfield was caused by roadside bomb or suicide
attack 
An Afghan official said a blast on a road near the main base for
U.S.-led troops in Afghanistan has killed six civilian family members,
including two children. The Interior Ministry said it remains unclear
whether Tuesday's explosion near the Bagram airfield, 60 kilometers
outside Kabul, was caused by a roadside bomb or suicide attack. The
Peshawar-based Afghan Islamic Press said Tuesday that a Taliban
spokesman claimed responsibility for a suicide attack at a foreign
military base near Bagram. It was not immediately clear if the claim
referred to the same incident. Separately Tuesday, the NATO-led force
said insurgents killed a coalition soldier in eastern Afghanistan. It
did not immediately release the nationality of the soldier. On Monday,
Afghan officials and NATO spokesmen said a series of clashes across the
country killed four American soldiers, four Afghan police officers and
at least eight militants.
