Officials say the suspension of 49-year-old Captain Owen Honors could come as early as Tuesday. Honors also stars in the videos, which are filled with anti-gay slurs and sexually explicit references. The videos were shown on the ship's closed-circuit television system to the carrier's crew of 6,000 during deployment. At the time, Honors was the ship's executive officer, or second-in-command. The videos were first made public Saturday by The Virginian-Pilot newspaper in Norfolk, Virginia, where the USS Enterprise is based. A Navy spokesman, Commander Chris Sims, called the videos "inappropriate" and said the Navy does not endorse or condone such actions. .
