                      Afghanistan: Roadside Blast Kills 10

   Afghan officials say a roadside bomb has detonated near a vehicle in
   Kandahar province, killing 10 people.
   Police chief Abdul Raziq said Monday's blast killed mostly women and
   children. Reports say 12 other people were wounded.
   Insurgents often plant landmines in southeast Afghanistan to target
   Afghan and international troops, but civilians are often injured as a
   result.
