Roadside Blast Kills 10 Civilians in S. Afghanistan Authorities in southern Afghanistan say a roadside bomb has killed at least 10 civilians and wounded 12 others. Kandahar province`s police chief Abdul Raziq said Monday`s blast killed mostly women and children. No one claimed responsibility. Taliban militants often plant landmines and roadside bombs in the area to target Afghan and international forces. However, international agencies blame indiscriminate tactics like these for killing most of the civilians throughout the Afghan war. Meanwhile, the Taliban said it would release the final four Turkish nationals held hostage since their helicopter went down in eastern Afghanistan last month. The militants released the four other Turkish workers Sunday. They are still holding the two pilots from Russia and Kyrgyzstan as well as the Afghan translator. The aircraft had been traveling from Khost to the capital, Kabul, when bad weather forced it to make an emergency landing in the Taliban stronghold of Logar province on April 21. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/roadside-blast-kills-10-civilians-in- s-afghanistan/1660044.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/roadside-blast-kills-10-civilians-in-s-afghanistan/1660044.html
