Huge Anti Gay Marriage March in Paris Tens of thousands of protesters marched through Paris on Sunday against France`s recently passed same-sex marriage law. Police put the number of protesters at 150,000 while organizers say 1 million people showed up. The march was generally peaceful, but about 100 far-right demonstrators who fought with riot police were arrested. Sunday`s march targeted President Francois Hollande and his Socialist government as much as gay marriage. One group of protesters hung a banner outside Socialist party headquarters demanding that Mr. Hollande resign. France is a predominantly Catholic country but officially secular, and polls show most French support the right of same sex couples to marry. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/huge-anti-gay-marriage-march-in-paris /1668796.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/huge-anti-gay-marriage-march-in-paris/1668796.html
