Hurricane Barbara Strikes Southern Mexico Hurricane Barbara, the first storm of the season, struck the southern Pacific coast of Mexico Wednesday. The Category One storm, with winds of 120 kilometers per hour, came ashore in Chiapas state, near the town of Tonala. There are no reports of casualties or damage so far.
