US Drone Strike Kills 4 in Pakistan Officials in northwest Pakistan say a suspected U.S. drone strike has killed at least four people and wounded four more. The identities of the victims were not immediately clear. Security officials say the unmanned aircraft launched two missiles Wednesday into a house in Chashma village, near Miranshah, the main town of the lawless North Waziristan district. The area along the Afghan border is a stronghold of Taliban and al-Qaida-linked militants. The drone strike was the the first such attack since Pakistan`s May 11th general election, in which the use of the unmanned aircraft was a major issue. Incoming Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called the drone strikes a "challenge" to his country`s sovereignty. U.S. President Barack Obama recently indicated he is scaling back the drone strike program. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/us-drone-strike-kills-4-in-pakistan/1 670330.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/us-drone-strike-kills-4-in-pakistan/1670330.html
