Hagel to Address Cyber Attacks with Chinese U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says he expects to bring up reports that Chinese computer hackers have stolen data from dozens of Pentagon weapons programs and other defense technologies when he meets with members of a Chinese delegation this weekend. Speaking to reporters on his plane on route from Hawaii to Singapore Friday, Hagel said the U.S. is responding to China`s cyber intrusions publicly and privately. "There`s only one way to deal with these issues and that`s straight up. We intend to use all these venues, and that closer cooperation and closer venue-building to hopefully get us in a position where we can get some better understanding, closer understanding of what these rules of the road are." Hagel said he would address cyber security in a speech on Saturday to the Shangri-La Security Dialogue in Singapore. He said the issue is also likely to come up in a brief meeting with Chinese delegates on the sidelines of the conference. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/hagel-to-address-cyber-attacks-with-c hinese/1672025.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/hagel-to-address-cyber-attacks-with-chinese/1672025.html
