              US: Iran Missile Test Likely Violated UN Resolution

   The White House says Iran likely breached United Nations rules when it
   tested a long-range ballistic missile last weekend.

   White House spokesman Josh Earnest said there were "strong indications"
   that Tehran "did violate U.N. Security Council resolutions that pertain
   to Iran's ballistic missile activities."

   But the White House spokesman added that those violations are "entirely
   separate" from the historic nuclear deal reached between Iran and world
   powers.

   Iran announced Sunday it had successfully tested a new domestically
   produced long-range missile, which it said was the first that could be
   guided all the way to targets.
