                    'Purple Rain' Returns to Movie Theaters

   "Purple Rain," the 1984 feature film starring legendary musician
   Prince, returned to U.S. movie theaters Saturday.

   Prince fans once again can see the pop icon on the big screen at AMC
   theaters around the country through April 28.

   The 57-year-old American songwriter died Thursday at his Paisley Park
   Studios complex, outside the northern city of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

   Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson told reporters Friday that there were
   no obvious signs of trauma on Prince's body and said there was no
   reason to suspect suicide in the musician's death. No cause of death
   has been released.

   He said that following the death, police issued a search warrant for
   Prince's home and canvassed the scene, which he said was normal
   procedure. Olson said he could not comment on whether police took any
   items from Prince's home.

   He said deputies found Prince unresponsive Thursday morning and
   pronounced him dead after attempts to revive him failed.

   The local medical examiner's office said Friday that preliminary
   results of the autopsy would take days to develop and results of a full
   toxicology scan could take weeks.

   Prince's body was released to his family Friday.

   Prince was being mourned around the world, with cities casting their
   own tributes in purple lights, the artist's favorite color. The Empire
   State Building and the Eiffel Tower were among the sites that received
   the purple treatment.

   The cast of Broadway's "The Color Purple" sang "Purple Rain" for the
   audience in a tribute.

   Prince fans in New Orleans will hold a jazz funeral for the legendary
   musician Monday in the historic Treme neighborhood. Organized via
   Facebook, it will include mourners clad in purple, traditional marching
   bands and a release of white doves.

   Sales of Prince's music have soared since news broke of the performer's
   death.
