                   'Affluenza' Teen Returns to US in Custody

   The American teenager wanted for violating his probation in a deadly
   drunk driving crash has been deported from Mexico to the United States
   were he was sent to juvenile detention.

   Ethan Couch arrived at a Texas airport escorted by police officers
   Thursday.

   Couch and his mother, Tonya Couch, 48, fled to Mexico after officials
   in Tarrant County, Texas, began an investigation into whether Ethan
   violated the probation deal that kept him out of prison after he killed
   four people with his pickup truck in 2013.

   Couch was 16 years old and drunk when his car slammed into an SUV,
   killing four people two years ago.

   He pled guilty to intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to 10
   years of probation.

   The case gained notoriety because Couch's lawyers used what was termed
   the "affluenza" defense, calling experts who convinced the court that
   Couch was too spoiled and pampered by his wealthy parents to understand
   the severity of his actions.

   He will face a detention hearing in the coming days where a judge will
   decide whether to hold him at a juvenile facility, to charge him in an
   adult jail or to let him go.
