Armed Man Arrested at Disneyland in Paris by VOA News French police on Thursday arrested a man who was carrying two handguns and ammunition at a hotel in the Disneyland Paris theme park. Authorities said the man's bag triggered metal detectors at Disney's Hotel New York. A woman was believed to be traveling with him but slipped away before she could be detained. Police said the man had papers indicating he lives in Paris, and he had a reservation at the hotel. No other identifying details were released, except that authorities said the man in custody also had been carrying a copy of the Quran. There was no confrontation during the incident, and Disneyland attractions remained open for business afterward. Disneyland Paris, about 30 kilometers east of the French capital, is among the most visited theme parks in Europe. Visitors are screened by security personnel when they enter the area. France remains under a state of emergency imposed after the November 13 terror attacks around Paris that killed 130 people and injured more than 350. Disneyland had closed briefly after those attacks. President Francois Hollande has said he wants to extend the state of emergency for another three months, despite opposition from rights activists. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/armed-man-arrested-disneyland-paris/3 167102.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/armed-man-arrested-disneyland-paris/3167102.html
