Al-Shabab Launches Attack in Mogadishu by Harun Maruf Reports from Mogadishu say Al-Shabab has attacked the Somali police force's Criminal Investigations Headquarters in the capital. Witnesses said two consecutive car bombs hit the main entrance of the offices in Mogadishu, which also house a prison. Somali internal security minister Abdirizak Omar Mohamed said on his Twitter account that three Al-Shabab fighters who tried to storm the building after the explosions were killed by security forces. Witnesses said at least three people who were walking in the road were killed, but the death toll could rise. Mohamed insisted there were "no casualties" with the security forces. A police officer on the roof of the investigation headquarters said the security forces are in full control of the building. Pro-Shabab social media claimed the group is responsible for the attack. It is the second attack in less than a week. On Tuesday, two car bombs struck the Mogadishu airport, killing 13 people, most of them private security guards. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/somalia-attack/3442848.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/somalia-attack/3442848.html
