                    State Department Travel Tweet Backfires

   The U.S. State Department is under fire for what some say is a tweet
   that suggested Americans are not as good looking as they may think they
   are.

   The purpose of the tweet, which has since been deleted, was to warn
   Americans traveling abroad and read "Not a `10' in the U.S.? Then not a
   `10' overseas. Beware of being lured into buying expensive drinks or
   worse -- being robbed."

   Twitter predictably erupted with criticism, comedy and parody, and the
   State Department apologized, saying the tweet was just a warning to
   avoid "overseas scam artists."
