       ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray was fined $100,000 for throwing
multiple objects in the direction of an official during Monday's Game
2 matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves, NBA executive vice
president and head of basketball operations Joe Dumars announced
       Tuesday.

The league opted not to suspend Murray for his actions.

During the first half of play, Murray threw a heat pack from the bench
that landed near the feet of T-Wolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns as he
       attempted a basket.

While Towns wasn't hurt on the play, Minnesota head coach Chris Finch
sounded off on Murray following the contest.

"It's inexcusable and dangerous," Finch told reporters after the
T-Wolves' 106-80 road win. "I'm sure it just was a mistake and an
oversight. I'm sure there was nothing intentional by the officiating
(crew) at all, but certainly can't allow that to happen."

The second-round series resumes Friday in the Twin City at 9:30 p.m
       ET.

Minnesota has a chance to go up 3-0 on the defending champs and move
within a victory of its second West finals in franchise history.
