Title: From Around Gopherspace Date: 20190605 Tags: me gopher ======================================== Been meaning to respond to phlog posts by others on gopher but I always get distracted and forget and then move on to new posts and repeat. I was happy to see Lambda Lab's excitement[0] about Sixel graphics and that some code is being written as a result. I had originally planned to build my gopher hole with optional inline sixel graphics (didn't quite decide how I was going to implement that option) but since most gopher clients don't display them well, I decided it wasn't worth the effort. I panicked when Tomasino announced[1] that gopher.black and moku-pona would be offline while moving to Iceland. It's been my homepage to gopher since I discovered it and was one of the couple of gopher holes I found one monumental day (and all the spaces linked there-in) that pulled me all the way into gopher. It was a relief to see the update that gopher.black would remain up during the move after all. Good luck with the move! That's big. LGR stole my bit and did a couple videos[2] about a dot matrix printer. A lot of talk about gopher and how it should be. I'm staying out of those discussions for now. I'm new here and want to get to know gopher before I consider if/how to change it. I love retro-computers and liked seeing edd post[3] about his Amstrad NC100. I want one! Or an NC200. I got something else I didn't need instead. Post to follow once it arrives.
