A pro-Israel group on Tuesday began what's expected to be a flood of spending by outside groups on Democratic primary races for U.S. House seats in Metro Detroit ahead of the Aug. 2 election in Michigan.

The United Democracy Project, the super political action committee started by the lobbying group the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, reserved at least $1.5 million in air time on broadcast and cable TV outlets in the Detroit market for one week, June 28 through July 5, according to insiders tracking the spending for multiple campaigns.
