Why We Can’t Prosecute The Former Guy Yet [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-01-13 The Crystal Ball says NO, and STOP ASKING! Crystal Ball at: https://www.pexels.com/ There have been numerous comments and yes, even whole diaries written to say it’s wrong-headed to expect that after two years, U. S.Attorney General Merrick Garland should arrest The Former Guy on charges of doing any of several crimes done publicly, that are explicitly against very specific laws. The people writing these comments and diaries say expecting a prosecutor to prosecute, Well,HOW RUDE! And they are SO RIGHT! (Notice that I just used big “yelling letters” to show everyone these folks mean business! Yes-huh!) Here are some reasons why we have no right to expect our tax dollars to result in any Department of Justice response, regardless that many of these crimes are what is exactly punishable by law, have great amounts of evidence readily obtainable, and the perpetrator is available, on the golf course by day, at home most nights. I’ve put the reasons this can’t be done into a numbered list for everyone’s convenience. Here goes: 1. Merrick Garland can’t plan for the unexpected. Everyone understands this right? It’s an Axiom of Wisdom that the prosecution can’t move forward unless there’s a plan for any and all eventualities. So the guy has done crimes in broad daylight? With written evidence? With video evidence? In front of witnesses? And it was planned with people who have already been convicted of conspiracy to obstruct the government? Pffhhht! If anyone anywhere can dream up any sort of circumstance that puts the verdict in any sort of doubt, well, the Department of Justice just can’t proceed. That’s the way the mop flops folks. 2. Biden has too many unresolved issues. It isn’t just his son Hunter’s laptop anymore. Now there’s these papers stored by someone in the closet. Correction: Two closets. Anyone with any sense of what’s right can see that we can’t do anything until this and every other concern with Biden is investigated. It wouldn’t surprise me that, now that the House is working on it, there will be many many issues with Biden, perhaps monthly, which will have to be resolved before the Department of Justice can do anything else. 3. What has the Mueller Investigation shown us? Some people might say that The Mueller Investigation, which resulted in actual inner circle people - not just the hoi polloi, but advisors, including the lawyer, the national security advisor, and the campaign manager - going to trial and being convicted, actually showed the opposite-it showed that Trump cannot be prosecuted. There will always be a Bill Barr to refuse to acknowledge what the report recommends. You can’t get to people like Trump. They’re too powerful. They can always buy their way out. Give up. 4. What has the January 6th Committee investigation shown us? Here, in an orderly fashion, on TV and in a report that’s available to all, the January 6th Committee has shown that the participants were violent, that Trump knew they were armed and that he told them to go to the Capitol and “fight like Hell!” Witness testimony and the written materials discovered shows he planned beforehand to have Pence refuse to accept the electoral vote (but Pence did his duty,) and there were alternate slates of electors made up. This presentation by the January 6th Committee was deliberately public-most of the time we must rely on reporters summarizing the day’s activities in courts; here We The People listened and watched directly.) But the Committee cannot bring charges. They must depend on the Department of Justice taking their evidence and proceeding. However, since bringing charges against the members of one party can be interpreted as “political” even if in fact those party members are widely known now to be the exact people who conspired with convicted conspirators to overthrow the election,it’s not going anywhere ever, folks. And that’s not even bringing up that someone on the jury could vote not to convict. Nope. That dog won’t hunt. Why even try? 5. Las Vegas says “No.” A canvas of the chief odds-makers in Las Vegas shows the odds of success for any investigation of The Former Guy are running pretty much against it. 6. The Social Media Influencers are totally like, “no way, AG!” and, you know, you should try to be more like them. 7. If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit. This is the physical test: The Glove Test. If any gloves were found anywhere in the White House during the day of January 6, 2021, you have to see if they fit The Former Guy. In Trump’s case, the gloves may be too big. This also would acquit him. 8. Yes, of course Space Aliens. Those bug-eyed little gray suckers are the ones that tried to keep the Enlightenment from happening until Francis Bacon forced their hand. They’re not benignly guiding human development. Far from it. 9. Five ThirtyEight says, “Meh!” and 10. Magic Eight Ball says,“Outlook not so good.” Are these two sources somehow mystically connected? They both have eight. Regardless, my Ouija Board, 11., is adamant that the spiritual world will be all up in a tizzy if the Department of Justice makes any move against its Favorite Witch. (Haven’t you wondered why he keeps calling these investigations into his activities “a Witch Hunt?” Well, Duh!) 12. The Stars aren’t propitious. As everyone knows from their starcharts, Trump - June 14, 1946- is a Gemini. They’re having peak fortunes right now, amIright? But AG Merrick Garland -November 13,1952? Well! Do I even have to say any more? Nothing Scorpios are doing lately is working out for them. Give up AG Garland! The stars aren’t with you! Maybe when we move out of the Age of Aquarius, something’ll break in your direction, huh? 13. Don’t even get me started on what we’re seeing in bird entrails. 14. French mystic and author Nostradamus predicted in the 16th century that Garland’s prosecution of Trump was a No Go. “The false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws.” Yeah, Merrick, looks like he does get to declassify stuff just by thinking about it. 15. Priests keeping track of the days with the Mayan Calendar report that the world is not going to end. That’s good but the Moon Gods aren’t taking any more questions. 16. The I Ching asserts that the uncertainty of prosecution is the most important thing. Aldo two other things. 17. Our Dowsing Rod isn’t giving a nod. 18. The Tarot card Justice was reversed. Nope, out of luck there. Uh-Oh: Seven of Swords, too. 19. A Palm Reading revealed the Sunline is truncated. Too bad. 20. The Crystal Ball says NO, and STOP ASKING! It’s using those Yelling Letters. It used to be willing to entertain a lot of these questions about Merrick Garland’s intent, but not anymore. It also wants to know where you get off thinking you can have an opinion. You can’t. So there it is: the unvarnished truth, Not only can DOJ not bring charges until they have covered every possible turn of events that could happen, but herein are myriad and multitudinous factors which will surely scotch any prosecutorial plan! Are there any others I’ve that I’ve overlooked? We should strive for a complete review of all internal and external factors which impact the Department of Justice as they try to determine if in fact they can prosecute Donald Trump at all or ever (Spoiler: Who, us? Prosecute?) Let me know in the comments if you find more factors! Thanks for reading! Post Script: If I wake up tomorrow and the DOJ has already arrested The Former Guy, never mind.
