A Michigan Congressman has introduced a bill to encourage people to say “thank you for our freedom” to veterans instead of “thank you for your service.” We’ll see whether as Fox News claims, “Political correctness could cost Democrats the White House in 2024”. Perhaps the rules will be enforced by Congress members now carrying firearms with the removal of magnetometers at the entrances of the chambers. Freedom fries was a politically motivated renaming of French fries in the United States. The term was created in February 2003 in a North Carolina restaurant, and was widely publicized a month later when the then Republican Chairman of the Committee on House Administration, Bob Ney, renamed the menu item in three Congressional cafeterias. The political renaming occurred in context of France's … en.wikipedia.org/... A Republican in the House of Representatives will be forming a new caucus to take on "wokeness" across the country, which presents the "greatest domestic threat to America today," he said. Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., announced Friday that he will be creating the "first-ever Anti-Woke Caucus" to take on political correctness groups, which he said have formed a "tyranny" that is vastly changing America through "indoctrination." Within hours of being sworn in as the new governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order Tuesday banning the term "Latinx" from official use in the state government. It is one of the first, if not the first, executive order of its kind, Tabitha Bonilla, an associate professor of human development and social policy at Northwestern University, told NBC News. It was one of seven orders signed by Sanders, a Republican, right after taking the oath. The other ones focused on prohibiting Arkansas schools from teaching critical race theory, budgeting and spending as well as other government affairs. Most of these executive orders are consistent with the rhetoric Sanders campaigned on — except for the one banning Latinx, a gender-neutral alternative to Hispanic or Latino. "That was nothing that I had seen from her until then. So, it felt surprising," Bonilla said. For Ed Morales, the author of the book “Latinx: The New Force in American Politics and Culture,” the governor’s seemingly sudden interest to ban the term Latinx — which is often derided by conservatives and debated among some Latinos — speaks to "this anti-woke agenda" the Republican Party has increasingly adopted. www.nbcnews.com/...
