The stink behind the bathroom brawl between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert [1] ['Daily Kos Staff', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-01-17 Another source reportedly said that Greene asked Boebert, “You were okay taking millions of dollars from McCarthy, but you refuse to vote for him for Speaker, Lauren?” Unaware Boebert was in the bathroom when she emerged from the stall, the first source told The Daily Beast that Lauren said to Greene, “Don’t be ugly,” and then “ran out like a little schoolgirl.” Neither representative has answered questions about the incident. Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan was alleged to have been in the bathroom during the spat, but has not confirmed to reporters what was said at the time. As Daily Kos wrote in December 2022, one fight between the two happened during an “AmericaFest” event, when Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk asked Boebert and creepy Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz what they thought of Greene’s support of McCarthy’s run for House speaker, Insider reports. Gaetz was demure and “politely disagreed,” Insider writes, while Boebert went for the jugular. The two women have taken alternate sides for months on issues such as funding Ukraine following Russia’s invasion—Greene, along with her MAGA cohorts, has not been in support of it—while Boebert introduced a House bill calling for funding to assist Ukraine in defending itself. Greene has been a massive supporter of former President Donald Trump’s third run for office, even holding up the phone while Trump was on the line during the final McCarthy vote to grab the gavel. She’s reportedly even on Trump’s shortlist of possible running mates. x It was the perfect phone call. pic.twitter.com/aRpf5pefoU — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸 (@RepMTG) January 7, 2023 Boebert has been behind Trump, too, while also appearing open to other GOP candidates in 2024, such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. "I love Governor Ron DeSantis. He is America's governor, and he has the same policies” as Trump, she said, adding that the presidential election remains "in the far future."
