The Long and the Snore of It: Trump, Sleepier-than-Thou [1]

You can’t make this stuff up. (And that’s not a good thing.)

The lout-mouthed sore loser who’s snarked at “Sleepy Joe” now deposes-and-exposes himself as (by his own standards) borderline comatose. On being shown a photo of the acclaimed writer E. Jean Carroll (who accuses him of having raped her), he honked, “That’s Marla, yeah. That’s my wife.”

D’oh!!!

Three points here. One, “my wife…. Marla” may come as a surprise to Melania. Two, not only has he never wed Carroll, he’s tried to dismiss her charge by snorting that she’s not his “type.” Three, he now claims she “said it was sexy to be raped.”

So, let’s face it. When a lifelong toxically ‘masculine’ bully wields slut-shaming to the point of suggesting ‘even if someone had assaulted her, she’d have enjoyed it, so there can’t be anything wrong here,’ our body politic has run a fever that threatens to pop the thermometer.

While the case at hand will be decided in court, the court of public opinion needs to rise and shine. Had Trump been held to account (at the polls or otherwise) for his admitted (on tape) history of habitual carnal assault, he never would have had his chance to effectively “grab” at total rule by sending his troop “to the Capitol….to fight like hell” on J6.

And we all might sleep a whole lot better.
