Lin Brehmer [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-01-23 Before streaming music, we had AM radio, until FM gave us better quality listening while AM lost it’s shine to mostly talk radio. Chicago had three or four popular rock stations to choose from. Only WXRT would play some of the newest and lesser known artists in their lineups. It was, and is, one of the best listening options to anyone who grew up loving rock and alternative styles and introduced me to some of my favorite artists. Their programming is gold standard and survives in this streaming age because of their leading edge reputation. Lin Brehmer was one of my favorite personalities. Knowledgeable, intelligent, compassionate and funny, his shows were worth a listen. He graced our radio waves for 30+ years with style and integrity. Lin left this world yesterday, losing his battle for cancer and leaving a hole that used to be filled with quality entertainment. R.I.P Lin, you will be missed by many including me.
