Burnishing vs Lying [1]

It’s to be expected that political candidates burnish

the resumes their campaigns regularly furnish.

Exaggerate accomplishments? Most of them try

but burnishing’s a little different from a total lie.

Santos didn’t burnish…he clearly and knowingly lied

and so far he’s getting away with the deceptions he tried.

While 75% of his constituents want him to resign

according to McCarthy et al, his lying is fine.

What’s at stake for Republicans is their razor thin majority

and for McCarthy…it’s also his house leadership authority…

Aren’t those lies of such a sufficiently huge scale

that the the outraged voters of Santo’s district should prevail?
