Criming in Arizona [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-02-01 MargaretPOA wrote a diary yesterday on this topic that got completely threadjacked. I would like to try again for some more serious discussion. I have a lot of questions. It seems that sore loser Kari Lake, in her determination to claim voter fraud, tweeted out images of voter signatures that she claims were fraudulent. The new SOS referred her to the new AG for breaking the law and exposing those voters to identity theft. "Nothing in this section shall preclude public inspection of voter registration records at the office of the county recorder for the purpose prescribed by this section, except that ... the records containing a voter's signature ... shall not be accessible or reproduced by any person other than the voter..." the office cited in the referral. Couldn’t happen to a nicer sleaze, of course. But first: How did she get those facsimile signatures? Didn’t a judge disallow her DIY signature matching demands several weeks ago? Do the victims of this doxxing know about it? I doubt they are on Twitter or following Kari Lake. [Unless they are actually part of her scheme and letting her do this because election denial is a cult.] If these are innocent people, they need to be notified of their exposure so they can take steps to protect themselves if possible. Do the victims have a valid tort claim against her for this data exposure, or for libel (published defamation) if they can show their registrations are valid? Can a lawyer take this on pro bono or on contingency? Does the county or state government bear any responsibility for letting these signatures get to Lake?
