New Day Cafe Whimsy Oneth Of The Month! [1]

Yesterday, we toured the foods of the Midwest. While wandering through some of that info, I wondered who the most famous musicians of the Midwest were.

Grab a cuppa whatever and a nosh, and let’s trip the light fantastic for a bit. Or just tap yer toes in time.

Now, this is entirely subjective, but it’s a start, and I thought it would be...whimsical!

The Midwest states are: IL IN IA KS MI MN MO NB ND OH SD WI.

The following list came from HERE , and do feel free to argue the point(s)!! I did, and I’m not from any of these states! For example...Les Paul is from WI and I’m pretty sure he was a lot more famous than The Violent Femmes!!

IL: Earth, Wind & Fire

IN: Jackson 5

IA: Slipknot

Never heard of them. Couldn’t get their YT videos to play and somehow, I’m just fine with that. IOWA...represent!

Guess they never heard of these guys?

KS: Kansas

MI: The Temptations (My song….just ask our guys; they always played it for me.)

MN: Prince and the Revolution

MO: Ike & Tina Turner

NE: Bright Eyes

Who? How about these guys? Best known for their Christmas albums….

ND: Bobby Vee & The Strangers

OH: The Black Keys

Again….who?? How about….

SD: The Spill Canvas

Whut? Hell, I got nuthin’. There ARE famous people from SD, just not any really famous musicians we’d all know. Help me out here??

WI: Violent Femmes

Oh, I don’t think so!! How about….OK, there are two. I was thinking of going with Steve Miller,but….c’mon... Les Paul!!
