How to Disable the Good Guys [1]

The people united will never be defeated. Hang in there, folks!

Take a grassroots movement for peace, justice, and a sustainable way of life. Use force, threats, misdirection, and a whole lot of money to split it into pieces. Now you have people who are fighting for peace, or justice, or the environment, but not all of them together.

Next, make these pieces of the movement compete with one another for media attention, membership, and funding. Use the resulting infighting to split the pieces into smaller and smaller fragments, even as the corporate rulers who oppose them grow larger and more unified.

If you are clever in your manipulations, you can get people trying to fund research into one disease to fight those trying to fund a different disease. You can get those trying to house the homeless to fight those protecting open land.

While the fragments of the movement fight one another for pieces of the pie, quietly take more and more of the pie for the very rich.

Set people of different ethnicities, gender, or religious beliefs against one another. Make sure you buy up all the media where people get their information. Then you can focus attention on the most extreme positions and the most outrageous behavior. Keep people angry. Give them easy targets. Do not educate, mediate, explain, or present alternatives.

The movement for change is dangerous for the ruling class. If people around the world made common cause, they could end the system that has made the elites rich and powerful. So make sure people know as little as possible. Keep them separated. Distract them with trivial pursuits.

And never use the word “solidarity” in case it catches on.
