Since Pretending to Care About POC Didn't Win Them Votes the GOP Embraces White Identity Politics. [1]

Democrats see comedy. Republicans see an Instructional Video.

Congressional Republicans, on a strictly party line vote, kicked Representative Ilhan Omar off the Foreign Affairs Committee. Q-Anon Kevin claimed it was about her anti-Semitic comments, but the truth was simple enough: Revenge for ousting Maggie Green (the one who spouted nonsense about Jewish Space Lasers) and Paul Gosar (the murder fantasy alpha hotel). The Democrats held nothing back in calling out the GOP’s racism but it did not matter, even the SCRM (So Called Republican Moderates) folded like a cheap table.

20 years ago the GOP at least attempted to be inclusive. No longer. In the last few years my Republican Opponents have pretty much given up trying to appeal to the non-white population of the United States. It started with that Fascist bast*rd DeSantis in Florida and his war on POC but it appears to have gotten a lot worse. The GOP are passing laws against Critical Race Theory, factual history about racial violence or anything that might make certain (white) people suffer mental anguish (deliberately undefined).

A rational person would ask why would any Political Party embrace racism and White Supremacy. This is 2023 not 1953 or even 1963. Isn’t this a recipe for political suicide when it comes to next Presidential/Congressional elections? Do they want to lose all 3 branches of Government?

Having observed both Democrats and Republicans for over 4 decades since Cowboy Ronnie first got elected Republican Politicians in the dawn of the 21st Century have attempted to use the Dog Whistle approach while claiming to court their Black Voters. With the Election of President Obama and VP Harris they have now made a collective decision that it no longer works. This leaves them with only 2 options:

Defy their Corporate Overlords and attempt to pass legislation that helps the poor and less fortunate (the majority of whom are POC) thus cutting into the Democratic Base.

Throw up their hand in defeat and attempt to slide us backwards by erasing the civil rights gained in the 1960’s and returning us to a Whites only America. This happened before in 1870 when President Hayes pulled Federal Troops from the South. It ended Reconstruction and POC disappeared from Congress.

In short the GOP has decided that pretending to be nice to POC, Gays and Women has gotten them no where electorally, so they will do the opposite: White Straight Male Identity Politics on steroids. Total war on our non-white population. Erase them from history. Eliminate Progressive Schools that were a haven for oppressed minorities. Gerrymander the States so that the minority can rule over the majority population. Marginalize anyone who is not heterosexual and and arrest anyone who is not cisgender.

Will it work? Only if those that believe in Representative Democracy aka one person one vote prevent it from happening. We Democrats and Progressives have the numbers. The question is do we have the political will?
