Why Black History Is Important (for everyone) [1]

The irony of the College Board capitulating to a wannabe fascist Florida Governor yesterday- at the very start of Black History Month is beyond tragic. He will never be satisfied. And because his tactics worked with very few repercussions, this outrage will be repeated by others like him around the country.

If all American students were required to learn about Black history, then perhaps we’d have fewer preconceived notions, or negative assumptions, more understanding, compassion, and more empathy toward our fellow Americans. Reform, more just laws, and policies could then result down the road. Clearly, we need more history, not less.
