First Question in a New Doctor-Patient relationship [1]

Is he or isn't he?

"Doctor, I'm sorry I have to ask this. Are you a Trump supporter? A Republican? In more normal times, I wouldn't care about your politics. But at this point, I can't have a trusting doctor-patient relationship with a Republican or a Trump supporter."

This is an active question because I am headed for that situation. I could really use some advice.

Most specialists are Republican Trump supporters, according to this article:

I live in a blue state, and I will see a Physician's Assistant (PA). She would statistically be a liberal Democrat, I think. But if I see a specialist or other Trump-supporting doctor, I want to know if that doctor believes in science or Trump.

And if the doctor supports science and isn't a fascist, but values tax cuts over anything else, that doesn't feel good either. This is not hatred or prejudice, but justified fear and anxiety. Looking forward to your comments. If you would also have this question for a new doc, how would you phrase it?
