Mr. DeSantis: You must go further in controlling Education [1]

Dear Mr. DeSantis:

Eliminating Black History from our education curriculum is not enough. Certainly, assuaging guilt for how Whites have treated others through the generations requires more eliminations of actual history.

First, there’s the Native Americans. If we teach how our American ancestors stole their land, forced them to march West, now known as the “Trail of Tears,” a march on which thousands died, what would our children think? If they learned how American soldiers gave Chief Pontiac a blanket covered in Smallpox as a peace offering, which he then to took back to his people resulting in many deaths: What will American children think? What would children learn about the character of White people if we do not eliminate this from our curriculum? Will this type of education destroy the myth of Truth, Justice, and the American Way?

But it doesn’t end at the Trail of Tears, or with Chief Pontiac. Educating children about Wounded Knee, an absolute massacre by White American soldiers must be forgotten. We can’t let children of any age learn how we took people’s lands, forced then onto hot, dry, lands with poor soil, and then shot them like Nazis did to the Jews.

While we are it Mr. DeSantis, we cannot teach children about the waves of immigrants who came to the United States seeking to live the “American Dream,” the discrimination they suffered from, and the corruption that enforced it.

And while you’re at it Mr. DeSantis, you must gain control of the internet. China would be a good example to follow. If children learn about our Japanese internment camps, about how the Chinese immigrants were given a “Chinaman’s Chance,” how the Poles and Irish were victims of the Coal Barons, they may ask questions, seek information, make decisions. Ultimately, they may protest rigidity forcing people how to think. Yes Mr. DeSantis, you must become Lord and Emperor of the Internet.

Perhaps Mr. DeSantis, we should just not teach history. If we eliminate history completely, women will be slow to recognize what you are trying to do to them now.
