Tonight is an open thread night because I’m headed off to a volunteer opportunity that opened up for tonight.

I’ve wanted to volunteer for various causes and finally this year I decided to take the plunge and I feel good about it although…

...it’s freezing outside today and tonight. I’m tempted to cancel but...I am really looking forward to this opportunity to serve the arts community (I am volunteering at the opening of an art gallery) and I figure that one or more of the other slated volunteers may decide to cancel because of the frigid weather.

The location is close to public transportation, so there will be no problem getting there and back home (if the CTA acts right). I have no other excuse for not going so…
