Just do a YouTube search on the topic. A witness the whirlwind. The current version of ChatGPT 3.5 seems remarkably human in its responses. It can create art, write an essay or even a news report. It can even write real runnable computer programs, to solve nearly any problem you can state clearly in words. All in mere seconds. It is posed to disrupt human society as we know it. And it (AI) is now learning from its earlier mistakes, and (self-) correcting — or at least disguising its (startling blunt 2.0) responses. Its avatars are now self-depreciating charming, at least as much as a likable human would be. Some of its replies actually appear to have intentions — both good and bad. Hard to tell if that is a “good or bad” thing. But it is certainly noteworthy. Watch this video featuring ChatGPT 3.0 — recorded before the recent “fine tuning” feedback loops were added in its current 3.5 incarnation. It seems spookily self-aware, or at least it mimics consciousness very well. Apologies for the Elon Musk appearances, but he is one of the driving forces behind the rush to adopt AI. Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, the human company behind ChatGPT, but I believe he was bought out, or decided to go his own AI way with Tesla AI. BTW, Microsoft just decided to put in a boatload of money, to underwrite OpenAI to the tune of tens of billions of dollars, in the last few weeks. So watch that space. This AI says it's conscious and experts are starting to agree. w Elon Musk. Digital Engine — from 7 months ago The hype-train has started. Many are advocating get on board — or get left behind. Use AI to get ahead while others panic (PREPARE NOW) by Tom Bilyeu (includes AI corrected “deep fake” content) — 5 days ago — ChatGPT Tools That Make You a PRODUCTIVITY GOD by Max Maher — 2 weeks ago — — Here is the current owner and creative force behind ChatGPT, and CEO of Open AI, Sam Altman. He seems more level-headed and circumspect than Musk. And he even has concerns about the “disruptive force” he is unleashing on the world. But he is hoping for the best outcome — even asking for “regulations” — but is plowing ahead anyways in the name of “progress” … damn the terminator torpedoes! ChatGPT 4 - hype vs reality (ft. Sam Altman) AI for Beginners — 2 weeks ago — — Not sure what to make of all this. But I fear it is a technological tsunami that it about to happen — probably several of them — whether us old-timers want it to happen, or not. Thought I’d pass along the “warning.” Especially since Musk appears to be all-in on the “inevitable” ... x ChatGPT is scary good. We are not far from dangerously strong AI. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 3, 2022 — — All this seems a bit more ominous than some damn spy balloon. Especially considering that Chat GPT could have written all the breathless balloon “stories” — in the time it takes to say … “And now a word from our sponsors.” — — Words can be like X-rays if you use them properly -- they’ll go through anything. You read and you’re pierced. — Aldous Huxley, Brave New World [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/2/4/2151133/-Spooky-Action-at-the-Speed-of-AI Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
