Measuring 5-6 cm in diameter and cast in bronze, hundreds of these objects, and fragments of them, have been found all over Europe in past centuries. They have circular holes of different sizes on each face, and beads on each vertex. Suggestions on their purpose or use have ranged from magic-religious purposes to possible knitting aids (though no evidence exists that the Romans knitted). If you can think of a possible purpose for these dodecahedra, post your suggestion in the comments. Top comments are below the fold.
