The clown show that features the antics of the House majority, the Governor of Florida and his cohorts in the Florida Legislature, not to mention in many other rings of the RWNJ circus (political bodies across the nation) — is that all a distraction to divert attention away from a serious threat to the Constitution of the U.S. as currently established, divert attention away from progress toward calling an Article V convention to ‘improve’ the Constitution? Though I suppose this question could be characterized as a conspiracy theory — many bad actors working together to achieve their ultimate goal, a ‘legitimized’ coup establishing an authoritarian pro-oligarch government in the U.S. — unlike the conspiracy theories promoted by the far right, it doesn’t require suspension of logic to tie together RWNJ activities engendering derision, disbelief, and outrage among those to the left of the current Republican Party. Common Cause : “A handful of wealthy special interest groups are just a few states away from calling a new constitutional convention. Under Article V of the Constitution, Congress is required to convene a constitutional convention if two-thirds of state legislatures (34 states) call for one. No convention has ever been called under Article V for a reason: there is just too much at stake.” ….. Common Cause Charlotte Observer “A growing political movement aims to rewrite the U.S. Constitution…..” Convention of States Action endorsed by these ‘notables’: Ron DeSantis, Allen West, Rand Paul , Ben Shapiro who says [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/2/6/2151351/-Is-Repug-bufoonery-the-distraction-for-skulduggery-Article-V-convention Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
