Tweets of the Week Feb 5-11 2023 [1]

Just when I thought things were working smoothly—

TOTW is a week—long project Each day I peruse the Bird App in search of the tweets you deserve. Each is addede to my draft post obe at a time. After each one is added, I click on the “Save Draft” box to make sure that, well, my draft is saved. So each day I can open DKos, go to “My Drafts,” and pickup[ where I left off.

Not this week. On Friday, I opened this draft too add to the tweets that were already there and...they’re gone. Five days worth of funny comments, hilarious pictures, and GOP self-owns, all vanished.

Experience tells me that the chances of the problem lying with DKos and it being a Twitter issue are about 50-50, although the fact that it took three tries to save this intro indicates it’s at least partly the fault of DKos. But I guess it doesn’t matter now. And there’s little point in contacting the DKos Help Desk so someone has to waste their time figuring out a plausible-sounding reason why it’s my fault, and even less point in talking to Twitter so they can tell me it’s because I’m too woke. So here’s what we’re going to do.

One of the best things about Twitter, even now, is the large number of palate-cleansing tweets involving wonderful, cute, funny animals. I found a bunch of those, and I’m going to throw them at ya’ this week as what I hope will be a special treat. We’ll see how many actually get posted. As for the usual dose of hilarious politically-oriented tweets, I’m going to ask the usual gang of terrific commenters to do their usual terrific job of finding the really good ones. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I am already examining work-arounds for this failure to save my TOTW drafts, and hope to resume some form of regular programming next week. Who knows, maybe it’s time to migrate to Mastodon or Spoutible and leave L. Ron Musk and Catturd to their little circle jerk. Tune in next week and see what happens. I know I will.
