Heya venthoologans, how was your weekend?

Went to the Botanical Garden on Friday after work, met up with a friend who is having a hard time -- her husband is going through a wigged out, extravagant, angry mental illness, and she is couch surfing with friends and relatives while he's at home. It is a sad difficult situation.

So many friends are having a hard time right now. People dying, fucking cancer and we're all getting old. Where I work, people are going nuts with some out of control behavior and lack of leadership. Two years and I retire. I hope I live long enough to enjoy it. Although my best friend is dying and I don't want to live without her at all.

Yesterday I went for a hike at a gorgeous state park about 1 1/4 hour drive south of here that I somehow missed before, all these years. It is full of redwoods and beautiful rock outcrops. Castle Rock SP. I want to visit there again.

I gave myself a vacation day today, took a walk with a friend who lives a little west of my house. We walked up her neighborhood hill and swapped stories.
