In 2021, they created a guide to help California voters elect progressive candidates for local, state and national seats as well as decipher and on decide ballot measures. Last year, Field Team 6 expanded what is now called the Blue Voter Guide (BVG) to 10 “swing states” and used a commercial level web site (the original version was a posted excel spreadsheet) that a user could input their address and their ballot would be generated with Democratic Party candidates prominently listed. Endorsers for the Democratic candidates were listed by their name with links to the candidate’s information that was on Ballotpedia and the endorsers’ web sites. Information on the funding sources and Bar Association ratings for judicial race candidates in non-partisan races was included. Lastly, organizations that supported and opposed ballot measures were listed under each measure that appeared on a voter’s ballot. This year, Blue Voter Guide will include the primary and general election races (and any ballot measures) for the states that have state-wide races (which are KY, LA, MS, NJ, PA, VA and WI). We hope to be able to cover all 50 states in 2024!! I share this information about the BVG in the hopes that word will spread and help the reluctant voter, the confused voter and anyone who usually skips the judicial and/or the ballot measure section of their ballot because they just don’t know how to vote on them! Here is a link to the BVG itself: bluevoterguide.org Right now, BVG contains the WI primary Supreme Court race (hoping to get 2 progressive judges to win the primary for the general election in the fall to protect a woman’s right to reproductive healthcare) as well as the Madison Mayoral and Common Council Races and the Milwaukee Common Council races. Here is a promotion video to share: Here is a call (a fillable survey that will initiate a contact from someone on our team) for volunteers to help us build and promote the BVG.
