No need to write a diary. I can get Chat GPT to do that. Speaking as a writer of several books.

Since my time here a Dkos I have never flagged anyone. Even the worst sort of diaries, of which we have all seen many. Even though I vote democratic as a leftist radical I make judgements not on party lines but on whether I think people are making things better in the world or making things worse.

I had a writer friend who died quite young Gustav Hasford en.wikipedia.org/… who wrote a book called The Short Timers which was made into a movie called Full Metal Jacket. He was a cracker from the south and a good spirit, writing one of the best anti war books of the Vietnam era. It was a change for me who had been protesting the war since I was 12. We all have our own paths. I don’t begrudge Kos and others their service. People choose their own path. It’s what makes life wonderfully free, at least her in America.

Back in the day I dropped out of school, UC Berkeley for a quarter. I always had a student deferment even though the local draft board wouldn’t give me a conscientious objector status. Since my draft number was 23 I was immediately sent an induction notice. Two months later it was canceled. Thanxs “Tricky Dick”

Mostly I wish people on DKOS would stop with the whining and hating... it really is beneath humans in this time that we are in. Maybe you can just be in their authentic selves. The time now is too precious and too important to keep up with the bullshit. How many of you would go to prison for your beliefs.

My father was a draft resister and was sent to prison for a few years. www.doc.wa.gov/… He wanted to be a Methodist Priest. He walked the path of peace and justice his whole life. I follow in his footsteps. You may not like what is happening and you may not like Elon Musk. but that’s just your opinion.
