It is a weird way of thinking about this I know — but I know enough to not quite buy all the BS from the army. Not good or bad — just the way they look at some things. So cold. And they are not wrong.

What he is basically saying is that the United States had an interest in making this war in Ukraine drag out to some extent. Let me assure you the army is that smart and can absolutely think this way. He is saying that by drip drip dripping this thing out it geometrically destroyed the Russian military for a generation just by making them chase their own tail. To keep spending them. Repeatedly.

But if that is true — I think it likely is — now we have an interest in closing this up too. I am morally conflicted in this — that by dragging this out it got an awful lot of innocents killed but it also dooms Russia in the future. If he is right it is one cold blooded calculation.

I really like this whipper snapper Lieutenant. He thought this thru better than I did. You can skip to minute 6 about this. I think Ukraine is about to kick their ass in — cause we are really gonna put our finger on this scale. In our interest now. It is why they broke that line yesterday on the Bakhmut front I think — they know.

Oh are they gonna get an air force alright, or the equivalent — and more. By the same logic we drew this out — assuming — now we pull it in. And all the sneaky little shit we have been feeding Ukraine is about to hit full blast. I am sure that is why Ukraine is so cocky here. Something is sure up.

The military history part of me is thinking we are about to see the sequel to Cannae. Or Gaugamela I guess. Something on that level. The “I was an ancient soldier” part of me — can smell this one coming too.

And I really do like this guy. I can look at his eyes and know we did war once. We both had about 40-50 kids to deal with. He is ALOT more current though — decades more. And smart as a whip.

I am really supposed to do actual work I get paid for — but god, I love military history more. Shoot me. I think something truly historic is coming down here. I am not double checking my writing here = don’t have time. But I know this is important. I am pretty sure what is about to come here. So is he I think. The writing is so on the wall. Russia keep disjointed moves constantly backing themselves into a corner.

Hodges thinks Russia will culminate in the next two months. Sounds right to me. But Ukraine is about to go on the offensive right about now. And this will indeed end in Crimea this summer for all practical purposes. I am certain. I know Ukraine is fighting this war and sure deserve the credit — but we are positioning it I think. No fucking way we let them lose.
