Josh Marshall at TPM offered up this little gem a short time ago:

Two Idaho legislators have introduced a bill that would make it a misdemeanor to administer an mRNA COVID vaccine in the state of Idaho. “A person may not provide or administer a vaccine developed using messenger ribonucleic acid technology for use in an individual or any other mammal in this state,” reads the text of the proposed legislation.

The two legislators are Rep. Tammy Nichols (R) and Rep. Judy Boyle (R). Nichols says she has concerns about inadequate testing and regulatory oversight that “may not have been done like we thought it should’ve been done” and “a lot of information that comes out with concerns to blood clots and heart issues.”

Your Republican Party, ladies and gentlemen. Idaho Taxpayers are footing the bill for this bit of fact-free flummery. One wonders just what “research” these medical experts did to come to their misconclusions — binged on Infowars? Asked RFK Jr? Polled the Freedom Caucus?

Aside from the disinformation, the text of the bill itself is a little odd: “...for use in an individual or any other mammal in this state.” Presumably, by ”individual” they meant ”person”, but the structure of the sentence says otherwise. I’m curious as to what “any other” individual mammal can be other than another individual mammal. I know, I’m splitting hairs, and a more likely explanation is that they thought it sounded like legalese, and lord knows that particular dialect is all but incomprehensible.
