This non-scandal proves conservatives simply don't know how to read [1]

Did you know that George Soros endorsed Ron DeSantis?

At least. That’s the impression you’ll get if you follow the Trump cult led by bootlickers, sycophants, con-artists, and actual fascists like Kari Lake, Laura Loomer, and Sebastian Gorka.

Oh, and a bunch of “I bought a blue check” users whose names I don’t even care to remember.

I felt compelled to write about this episode of GOP-infighting partially because of how goddamn stupid it is but also what it speaks to the state of modern day media literacy.

For the record, George Soros obviously did not endorse Ron DeSantis. And just because, Rupert Murdoch has also not endorsed Bernie Sanders for president in 2024. Here is what he *actually* said - the truth the media doesn’t want you to know:

“DeSantis is shrewd, ruthless and ambitious. He is likely to be [the] Republican candidate. This could induce Trump, whose narcissism has turned into a disease, to run as a third-party candidate. That would lead to a Democratic landslide and force the Republican Party to reform itself.”

Such a Complete and Total Endorsement /s

Nevertheless, this inconvenient liberal propaganda we call “facts” has not stopped former DeSatan worshipers, who saw him as something of Trump’s heir, from posting headlines such as: “The Kiss of Death - Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Endorsed by George Soros” and “George Soros ENDORSES Ron DeSantis For President In 2024 In UNBELIEVABLE Speech Rpt 17th Feb, 2023”.

Sure, it might be funny to laugh off the fact conservatives are so lazy and media illiterate that they don’t seem to be capable of doing even simple fact checking (because that’s just for libturds) before spewing incoherent drivel about how DeSantis is a globalist agent sent to derail Trump, who was literally sent by God or something to bla bla bla. You know, wholesome conservative content.

But what else does this episode tell us? It tells us that a small but significant portion of the electorate has been raised to (or have) become so dumbed down that they can be led to believe anything with no further critical thinking whatsoever.

To be fair, we’ve seen darker instances of the dumbed down being weaponized for political purposes. For example, how idiots stormed the Capitol 2 years ago in response to a chorus of lies by Trump & his underbelly of fellow grifters. Nevertheless, given that we know they believe basically anything, given that it’s coming from a voice that shares their lust for fascist theocracy, what’s stopping these dumbed down idiots from doing worse things than believing a far right arch-nemesis endorsed a prospective* Trump rival?

*because what seems lost in the media for all the free rent space Ron has taken in Don’s head is that he hasn’t even said he’s running. For all we know Trump could be frothing over nothing.

Media literacy is at an all time low in this country. Some people simply do not know how to distinguish an opinion host like Tucker Carlson from a proper journalist like Lester Holt. It is imperative that stronger efforts are made to introduce it into the curricular to save our children from falling for the same grifters that have hijacked the minds of our grandparents.
