They are one of the oldest human-developed horse breeds in the world, possibly going back 4,500 years in the Middle East, where they were prized by the Bedouins. There are many different legends about their origins.

They have contributed to the breeding of many other lines, adding speed and endurance. There are Arab bloodlines in nearly every riding horse today.

They are intelligent and willing to please, but also high-spirited and sensitive, so a rider needs to treat them with respect.

PWBPeeps is a group that posts a daily diary and nightly open thread for animal lovers. We share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
